Tote bag tutorial:

Bag-progress

So, I finally got my beee-hind to the craft-store today and boutht some fabric padding. There will be action on the sewing-machine tomorrow. Puh, spent quite a bit of money though. (Pause while I try to find justifying reasons for spending large amounts of cash on hobby) Yeees, it will keep me sane. Idle hands and so...

Also I'm trying out different ideas for logos and names for my new tiny craft-company. Watcha think? Anybody have any ideas?

The bird-drawing is for my sister. Imoto: look it is You!

Baby-steps

Trying out a pattern from one of the craft-magazines i got from Kitty-Craft. Really cute baby ballerina shoes. Only problem is that they are to small for my daughters feet. (Bigfoot was sleeping when I made them). I suppose they are perfect for a 4 months old or so. The shoes are about 6cm long.

This is how the shoes looked before I finished them. Will show the finished product tomorrow. Are they not gooorgious? The one in the magazine had embroidery on them. I think I might put some on Sunni's shoes...

Card-holder cover

New cover for Lises card-holder to go with the little purse she got. It's only missing a seam and a button. The one on the left is the one that it will be replacing, I used it as a pattern for the new one. Hopefully it fits...

Childrens festival - Kalvøya

Went to the childrens festival at Kalvøya. Yousting knights made Storm's day! He also talked to a knight and got to hold his sword, shot with a bow and arrow and cuddled a goat. Just when the day coulden't get any better (and wetter) we found somone making baloon figures. A black baloon-sword and a lazer gun later he was all smiles. He shouted "en garde" to everyone we met on the 10 minutes walk back to the car. Cute!

Hvete og rugbrød oppskrift

Sånn lager jeg brød:

1 kg mel (700g hvetemel, 300g finmalt rug)
7 dl lunkent vann
50 tørrgjær
litt salt

Alt blandes i kjøkkenmaskin, la den gå en stund så deigen blir god og seig.
Sett til heving i kjøleskap over natten.
Elt ut til 2 brød i smurt form, la heve under kjøkkenhåndkle i ca. halvtime og stek så på 200 grader i ca halvtime.

Synes de er kjempegode.

Ribbon quilt

These are silk-ribbons that I'm sewing together to make, well, something. Not sure yet. Think it looks nice though... Never tried this before. Also there are a few small purses that I will show later on.

Snail-mail from Silje

How cute is this? I got this package in the mail this morning from Funky Miss Silje.
A supercute card and envelope, and gifts for me and my children. Beautiful bracelet that she made for me, spiderman stickers for storm (he has already used them to brand everything that is his in the house), and tiny erasers with bears on them for Sunni.

Thank you thank you!! It was exiting to open and find out what it was together with Storm.

Fin-fin veske av t-skjorte

Denne er nesten ferdig, må bare feste reima og sy kant rundt åpningen.

No. 1 & 2

This is the first two purses to be completed. They are about 12 cm wide and the front is made from high quality japanese kimono fabric. The back and the lining is in a black cotton/acrylic blend fabric on one, and olive-green lining fabric on the other. Perfect for coins or other small bits you don't want to have loose in your bag.

The the japanese shirimen fabric is new to me. It was very easy to use and did not fray at all. It can be hand-washed and ironed carefully. The black one on the right is for You Lise, if you want it. :)

In the mail Kristinur

Sometimes, in the land of babies and lots of laundry, things take time. Better late than never. Your bag wil arrive in the post shortly... Also in the package a little cat-yoyo I found in Denmark. See you soon.

Zip-pocket purse

Post-holiday drowsiness

Back from our week-long holiday in Danmark. We had a lovely time with the children and all four grandparents. Lots of food and relaxing (clever us brought the baby-sitters with us).

I even managed to make some stuff this week. Brought a lot of wool yarn with me and crocheted up all the little leftover bits I had laying around. The holiday house had a nice washer and tumble dryer, so I put all my crochet inn with the laundry in the end of the week.

I also tried to hand-quilt some little pieces of fabric I found laying around in a craft shop. (Poor fabric - didn't have a home - yes - had to buy it...) I think I will have to finish it on the machine though...

When I went through the mail I found a SUPRISE (Yes Imoto - the secret's out..) Kitty-Craft had sent me the last fabric I didn't get in the big shipment. Super-cute!! Yay!
